Ron Dorff Store

Berlin, Germany

Project finish 2019

Elisabet Sundin Architecture

This assignment was to manage the interior and renovation of a new Ron Dorff shop in Berlin. Ron Dorff is an up-and-coming French-Scandinavian clothing brand, based in Paris and now expanding in Europe and to North America.

As being their first store in Germany they wanted a prominent address to represent their success and found this beautiful 43 square meter space in trendy Alte Schönhauser Strasse in Mitte quarter.

To match their high-end sportswear, the interior style is inspired by a sports locker room: light and fresh with wooden benches, black metal racks and white metal lockers for display and storage underneath.

First of all, to bring a light finish to the space, we sanded the beautiful oak parquet. We used a matte varnish, which will keep the wood from darken with time. Furthermore, the walls and ceiling are painted crisp white to keep the focus on the merchandise.

The over-all renovation work was made by Mustafa and his team from Cosansu Bauausführungen; Façade, walls, floors, ceiling and all installations were professionally executed under a tight time-schedule.

Electrical work, interior as well as exterior, was made by David from Elektro-Christoph.

The benches, racks and mirrors were made by the English manufacturer Turners & More and shipped in before opening. For the customised cash desk and window display we got excellent help from Berlin-based carpenter Möbel Horzon, who were on site to install and fit the heavy furniture for the, not always, straight surfaces of an old building. The signage, as well as façade lighting, was made by Ocean Werbung.

The store opened on the 21st of March and is to be found on Alte Schönhauser Str. 41 in Berlin.
